It is true that a designer rubbing shoulders with antimatter is disturbing. If we know the accuracy and poetry of his design, Jean-François D'Or orbits with other disciplines. In his performance, he immerses us in a mixture of genres, between musical approach, metaphysics, moody mood, reformulated pataphysics, poetic quantum and other p(r)oses. He summons multiple objects and exploits them in an unusual way revealing and popularizing certain physical phenomena.

Il est vrai qu’un designer se frottant à l’antimatière est troublant. Si on connaît la justesse et la poésie de son design, Jean-François D'Or orbite et se frotte à d’autres disciplines.
Dans cette performance, il nous plonge dans un mélange des genres. Entre approche musicale, métaphysique, humeur lunatique, pataphysique reformulée, quantique poétique et autres p(r)oses. Il y convoque de multiples objets et les exploite de manière insolite révélant et vulgarisant certains phénomènes physiques.

These are the reflections of his mental universe that he makes us discover in his concerts and performances. Suspended moments, out of time, he lends himself to unexpected interpretations and experiences and reveals his neuronal beauty spots. As he says, he has ants in his cortex that he seeks to feed with experiences, with stories. Probably through imprudence, through insomnia, through contradiction. To hope to get the small space of a smile, to try to awaken this indecent thrill of being moved.

Ce sont les reflets d’un univers mental qu'il nous fait découvrir dans ses concerts et performances. Moments suspendus, hors du temps, il se prête à des interprétations et à des expériences inattendues et y dévoile ses grains de beauté neuronaux. Comme il le dit, il a des fourmis dans le cortex qu’il cherche à nourrir d'expériences, de récits. Sans doute par imprudence, par insomnie, par contradiction. Pour espérer décrocher le menu espace d'un sourire, tenter d'éveiller ce frisson indécent d'être ému.
In his quantum, he tells us about apeirophobia, this thrill of infinity that refers to the finitude of the human being in the face of the immensity of the cosmos. As much vertigo in the face of our own insignificance, he teases absurdity and juggles between wonder and derision.

Dans son quantique, il nous conte l’apéirophobie, ce frisson de l’infini qui renvoie à la finitude de l’être humain face à l’immensité du cosmos. Autant de vertige face à notre propre insignifiance, il taquine l’absurdité et jongle entre émerveillement et dérision.
Comme voltigent ces feuilles dans un vent d’automne, nous allons procéder à un canon collectif et inonder cette grande salle de grelots d’ondes sonores.
Vous avez devant vous ces sonnettes boîtes à musique en chêne disposées sur la balustrade.
Procédons calmement, suivant un protocole somme toute simple et aléatoire, tournez doucement la manivelle dans un rythme lent et continu, bien régulièrement, afin de vider chaque boîte de son son.

As these leaves flutter in an autumn wind, we will proceed to a collective cannon and flood this large room with bells of sound waves. You have before you these oak music box bells arranged on the balustrade. Let us proceed calmly, following a protocol that is quite simple and random, gently turn the crank in a slow and continuous rhythm, very regularly, in order to empty each box of its sound.

J'ai installé au beau milieu de cette salle un disque d'un diamètre de 4mètres que j'ai rempli de sel. Un paquet de 1 kg de sel contient 15 000 grains de sel. J'y ai déversé pratiquement 67 paquets. Dans ce cercle, j'ai pu égrener 1 million de grains de sel. J'ai essayé d'être parfaitement précis dans les chiffres de cette installation.
Comparons tout d'abord cette quantité de grains de sel avec le nombre de galaxies présentes dans l'Univers.

I installed in the middle of this room a disk with a diameter of 4 meters that I filled with salt. A 1 kg packet of salt contains 15,000 grains of salt. I poured almost 67 packets into it. In this circle, I was able to count 1 million grains of salt.I tried to be perfectly precise in the figures of this installation. Let us first compare this quantity of grains of salt with the number of galaxies present in the Universe.
