Le chant du coquelicot, song of the poppy flower, sings the awakening of the red sun.
In the French etymology, the word coquelicot, meaning poppy flower, was « coquelicoq » and cames from the French word « coq », meaning cock. Into the fields, the poppy flower was confused with the red head of the familiar bird, solar animal yelling the rising sun at the beginning of the day.
