Disk
The simplicity of Disk, the lamp with which Jean-François D'Or scored a hit, is masterful. It is nothing more than a pressed, white-painted aluminium disk of 60 cm in diameter onto which light is reflected, but its effect is maximal. The Disk defines everything design is about : function and form in distinctive simplicity. His minimalist formal lines have more to do with asceticism than with minimalism as such. A large disk of light swings into a quiet sound of a gong cymbal.

The Disk – something between a bare bulb and a fixture – is a hanging lamp with a fabric-covered electrical cable of up to 2,5 m that can be hung from the ceiling. Because the light bounces off the white aluminum disk it creates a diffuse light which, depending on the chosen height, creates an entirely different atmosphere.
